Every lesson has the same parts: an overview, the goals for that lesson, the content with diagrams and examples, study questions to check yourself, a summary of key points, and a quiz.

3. How the course works

  • Lessons open in order. You finish each lesson and pass its quiz before the next one opens.
  • Your progress is saved each time you complete a step, so you can stop and come back on any device.
  • Take breaks. Rest for at least 5 minutes every hour you study.
  • Videos must be watched to the end before you can continue, and some are followed by a short question to check you watched.

4. Quizzes, tests and the final exam

  • Lesson quizzes: you need 70% to pass and have 3 attempts. If you don’t pass after 3 attempts, review the lesson and call us; we’ll help you and reset the quiz.
  • Permit test (Day 4): two tests, Road Rules and Road Signs, with 20 questions each. You need at least 14 correct on each. Passing completes Module One, which leads to your learner license certificate (DE-964).
  • Final exam: 50 questions chosen at random from all 12 lessons. You need 70% to pass and have 3 attempts, each with different questions. Under Texas rules, failing the final exam 3 times means the course must be taken again.
  • Correct answers are not shown after quizzes and tests, so that every attempt is a fair test of what you know.

5. Completing the course and your certificate

  • Learner license certificate: after you complete Module One (Days 1 to 4) and pass the permit test, Wylie Driving School issues your DE-964 for the learner license.
  • Driver license certificate: after you complete all 24 classroom hours, the final exam, and the 14 hours of in-car instruction with us, we issue the second DE-964 for your provisional license.
  • Your certificate uses your legal name and date of birth exactly as on your birth certificate or passport. Tell us right away if anything you entered at checkout is wrong.

6. Academic integrity

You must complete this course yourself. Do not share your login, and do not let anyone else take lessons, quizzes, tests or the exam for you. Do not use notes, books, websites or another person’s help during the permit test or the final exam. Your certificate is an official state document. Anyone found cheating will be removed from the course without a certificate, and a false certificate is a crime in Texas.
